          Note:
Irene was so pleased and excited about this Memorial Page for her children. I now change it to a Memorial for all three. I am so saddened by the loss of this dear friend.

          She leaves behind...her husband, Colin
          One son, Warren
Two beautiful grandchildren, Tristan and Tyla

          Fly with the angels, Irene.

I met lovely "Lady" Irene, about six years ago through another's web site. Her gentle and kind words of encouragement were as if an Angel had spoken.

Irene was so sympathetic to my needs. We had suffered the terrible tragedy of losing a child, and I was still feeling that dreaded void. She spoke of understanding my loss (as had many), yet somehow she seemed to honestly understand! It soon became apparent that she more than understood!
She, too, had suffered such a loss. Little did I know the next line she wrote would send me reeling.

Irene had lost two adult children in a very tragic automobile accident. I was stunned. This wonderful "lady" was comforting me and suddenly I realized what a special person I had met. I asked few details that evening and soon learned the terrible truth.

Trisha, Irene's daughter (a bride of two short years), and Kevin, Irene's son, had been driving on the freeway. Unfortunately, they never had a chance! This brother and sister had always been very close, even as children. An overwhelming sense of loss now returned, but this time for Irene.

She finds good in everyone; Such gentleness and understanding. We talked for many, many months about our children. Our lives began to take on a rather "extended family" attitude. We each have one remaining child and for that we are grateful.

A few months ago, Irene decided to do something she had never done; try her hand at painting. As you can see, she is truly gifted, and her paintings are beautiful! She is much too modest, however. The flowers in the painting above were purchased in May on the anniversary of Trisha and Kevin's death. I am so very happy to have found this "Lady" and to share in her life. Thank you Irene, for being a dear and treasured friend!

The following are some of Irene's thoughts, which she has written to me.

There was never a time when they never had any friends, or had nothing to do. Always lots of friends around and always busy. They were both very caring considerate people. All three of the children got along well with both very young and older people. Kevin had a very good sense of humour, and was a great sportsman. He loved sports of all kinds; he played golf, and loved to fish.

Trisha had a gentle nature; this attracted people to her. She always wanted to include others, and no one should be 'left out'. They both loved the outdoors, and were on their way to a camping weekend when they were killed.

A very special memory to me of Trisha; when she was a teenager, like all moms and their teenage children we had our differences, and when ever we had an argument, I would find a letter under my pillow that night, telling me how much she loved me and an apology. Needless to say, she found a letter under her pillow as well.

Kevin was away from home in his final year of school and first of working. We used to write poems to each other; they meant so much to me, and I know to him as well. His girlfriend told me he always used to talk about that.
(I still have those letters and a few of the little poems too).
