~*~ A Prize
Winner ~*~
Rarely do we find a friend on the Internet that is willing to go more than the “extra” mile for us, but I have been very fortunate and have found such a person. She is so talented that it is truly impossible to write all of her accolades. She would be totally embarrassed if I did.
She is modest, quiet, humorous, filled with love, and it is truly a joy to call her my “Special Friend.” Many of you know her from the beautiful graphics she creates; but what some may not know is that she *asks* if she can help? Many on the Internet have been such a blessing to me. They are such caring, loving individuals who are always there to send a special card; to say, “I am thinking of you,” or just a lovely e-mail to say hello. Sincere, loving and always lifting my spirits, SwtMeloDe (pronounced Sweet Melody)is all of this and so much more!
She made this background for me for a “Special Friend” that loves horses. Of course she had no idea it was for her. Surprise SwtMeloDe!
This young lady called from NY (her home) to ask what my husband’s doctor had decided after a recent appointment. Her concern for us, as well as so many others, is sincere and heartwarming. Thank you, “Sweet One”!
This beautiful young lady began riding horses at a *very* young age and had a favorite she named Wildfire. That is why I have chosen the song that is playing. She has been riding for 32 years (she doesn’t look that old) and competing for 28 of those years. She received many awards and still has a love of animals that is phenomenal.

SwtMeloDe also loves music. She began playing the piano at age 9 and entered many talent shows. No, she didn’t win them all. ~smiles~ At age 11, She started singing jingles for TV commercials in her hometown of Montreal, where she grew up. Eventually pursuing a career in the music business and leading her to New York.
SwtMeloDe continues to write & remain behind the scenes in one of the most toughest businesses to date. She is very active in AIDS Awareness, Children's Cancer Society and Make a Wish Foundation.
Her advice for others who peruse a career in this field is, "No dream is out of your reach. God grants talents to all and if you have faith and believe in yourself, Heaven's gate will open & your dream will come alive"
She wears many “hats,” and I feel it a true honor to know this very multitalented and special woman. If you know her, you understand. She is a very private individual, and I had to ”dig deep” for this bit of information. Her sense of humor is truly a great asset. Sometimes she sends an e-mail that is hysterical. Other times the mail is very serious and always shows concern for others. Never herself. The respect I have for SwtMeloDe cannot be measured and that is a quality that one must earn. She has!
I have written a poem for you, ”Sweet One,” and it can never truly say what you mean to me and to so many others. Thank you for being the person you are. You are loved by so many!
“The Prize”
I have often wondered how life might be,
If every Language deleted the word, “me.”
How difficult (I believe you’ll agree),
To speak kindly of others; and “me,” not see!
Such valuable lessons we all could learn,
If we listened to others with true concern.
A friend who is faithful, true and so kind?
Are they being sincere when they say, “I don’t mind?”
One who asks nothing, for a ‘gift’ you may find,
Merely a smile seems to be their design.
A comrade, supporter, who cares not your “rank.”
They judge not your color, religion, or “bank.”
I’ve been given a friend who wears no disguise.
A ‘Sweet Melody': Another “First Prize.”
